Byrne Bros Force Fields introduces the fantastical story of the titular Byrne Brothers, Dublin born manufacturers of magical force fields. Using a mockumentary approach their metaphysical working lives are presented as the corporate website for their firm.
This online work encompasses product marketing materials, a history of the company, pen portraits of the current leadership and archival press materials that depict the development of Byrne Brothers from its founding in 1905 to the present day.
The lives of the Byrnes is set against a wider world building - the Silver Branch Universe - that imagines what might happen if Irish independence was won on the astral rather than the physical plane by a band of occultist revolutionaries led by William Butler Yeats and, consequently, that Ireland adopted magic rather than Christianity as the States’ official belief system.
